Testimony of Leaving Islam
My name is Hamza and I am now agnostic. I was a sunni Muslim who prayed 5 times a day, read the Quran, fasted and observed all normal traditions of Islam. I will explain the reasons of why I left Islam using quotes from the Quran itself and then analyse the quotes to show you why I find them to be false/morally wrong or contradicting. It’s quite a long read so get ready.
Islam never really held my attention, I always found myself out of synch with it. Praying was boring and i felt no connection to Allah - it sometimes hurt my feet and made me tired which I obviously think shouldn’t happen whilst praying, praying should be calming and rewarding in my eyes but it felt like an annoying chore. Fasting was uncomfortable, the structured rule set was frustrating and claustrophobic, often arbitrary. When I asked questions my curiosity was met with unresponsive answers that left me unsatisfied, my dad used to just tell me “shhh” or repeated how we did things whenever i questioned WHY we did things rather than how. Programmed platitudes, clichés and canards that rang insincere and hollow to me. And that was on a good day when the answers were somewhat constructive. The divine idea just didn't sit right with me either from a young age as I always questioned things but my friends and family never did which is what separates me from them. They are the type of people who say that God predetermines everything and yet look both ways when crossing a road or get easily angry when things don't go their way rather than accepting that it is God’s plan for them which is something they normally say when they’re in a good mood or predicament.
Other Muslims get told stuff by their parents who, being Muslim will try their best and portray Islam in the best light, even if they don't have an answer. Their parents don't even know the religion themselves, after all it's in arabic and nobody bothers to learn it and yet Muslims still act as if they know everything about the Quran when they haven't bothered to read it in their first language. Why is God’s book so unclear that you need a scholar to teach you it, why are there so many different translations, I mean this is literally life and death and Allah thinks it’s okay to be vague? Why do I need to be taught what to think rather than how? Why is my brother in law needed to teach me what each verse means when Allah’s holy book itself should be sufficient. What if you live in a Muslim-free town and try to read the Quran, you’re screwed because it won’t make sense and will just seem a jumbled mess of verses. Heaven and Hell are on the line and they’re eternal and yet Allah couldn’t be bothered to get the translations correct in his supposedly perfect book. Why is it so hard to translate and why is it so unclear in that one verse has many meanings? Is God trying to be deceiving? If you read it with logic and reasoning, you would be distraught, confused and angry as I also was. However I learnt that Islam is not the right way of life and that I must find my own way, no matter how hard it is and whether my family accept me or not. Islam is a way of life rather than a religion, it is controlling and teethes into every aspect of life which can be tiresome and annoying. Not being allowed to go out with my friends and have freedom, not being allowed to have a girlfriend or masturbate when both are scientifically proven to be healthy. Masturbation 4-5 times a week actually declines chance of testicular cancer by 33%. Imams are no help either, they pretend to know everything and actually know little and brainwash the kids by telling them false or exaggerated stories about heaven which only increases their desire to be Muslim, regardless of the immoral qualities alongside it. Of course everyone is going to say the Quran is perfect. The whole religion rests on this idea: if it breaks, the religion breaks. Most adults or even teens cannot handle being wrong about God, so even if proven wrong they will not amend their ways because they’re afraid they’ve wasted their life and afraid of God punishing them if he does exist - but if God is loving then there is no need for punishment. People always remain ignorant to the Quran’s mistakes and brush them off the shoulder rather than investigating them or will make up any excuse to cover it even if it leaves the biggest doubt in their mind.
My questions were always unanswered, by Imams, my parents and my sisters/relatives. I did my own research and found out how horrific it really is and therefore I implore you also to research for yourself rather than blindly following it as my entire family and friends have. After blindly following it for this long and when I tell them of my atheism they will go crazy and the main reason is because nobody ever questioned it before me and I will somehow be in the wrong even if I provide evidence saying otherwise. The reason why I'm different is because i'm intelligent (i’m normally a modest person as well, but i digress) and I have a questioning nature which is why I was able to break free and the others just kept blindly following the religion of their parents' sayings, even if they knew they were false. I always felt different to every other Muslim in Aylesbury (my hometown). I felt smarter and less gullible, I didn't simply do things because others did, I questioned what they were doing and whys. I have wasted 16 years of my life being brainwashed and close minded and 2 years acting as a Muslim. 18 years of my life have gone and half of those times I couldn't be the person i wanted to be, the real me, this caused me anxiety, taught me to lie a lot when unnecessary and to live a double life. Being raised a Muslim also tends to mean your parent's love isn't unconditional which even as a guy brings tears to my eyes. The pakistani/arab/asian culture annoys me too because there isn't much that is valuable because they tend to lack manners/etiquette, except from family values which again dwell on conditional love. The worst thing is, I can only tell a few people and I don’t actually have anyone that I can confront and talk to face to face because my friends are mostly Muslim and my other friends won’t understand or live far away. I have never felt so alienated in my life and it has caused me a huge amount of depression and anxiety and I act as if nothing is or ever was wrong. I have struggled through my studies having thoughts of apostasy, suicide, an existential crisis, rebellion and now a plan for my future. Most Pakistani parents lack understanding and have poor communication with their children especially on subjects they deem inappropriate or unimportant (sex, drugs, going out, even manners and etiquette at times). This is extremely important because I know so many people that can’t talk about their basic problems because of how their parents will judge them and lack understanding. I know everyone is unique and has different upbringings but I am human and everyone else is too so I will have felt the same emotions as other Muslims and have shared the same experiences to varying degrees. I will next analyse how Muslims try to defend their immoral religion then I will proceed to touch on only a FEW of the things I found wrong and focused on some elements more than others, because there were so many criticisms but I want to keep it within 15 pages. How Muslims defend their religion: Out of Context Argument: When one raises questions about verses of the Quran or Muhammad’s actions from the hadiths, all Muslims be it mullahs or educated moderate ones parrot only one thing in defence: ‘You are talking out of context’, ‘please find out under what circumstances Muhammad did so’, ‘there must be some reason for that’ and so on. But they themselves will never try to find out those contexts or circumstances under which Muhammad did so many malicious things, or nonsensical or violence-inciting verses were revealed. And when you show them the context of verses from the tafsirs, which often make Islam appear even more evil and atrocious, they immediately change tune to claim that ‘this verse is allegorical’ and on the worst scenario, they would say ‘this verse is sarcastic’. Just imagine that the creator of the universe is talking in allegorical or sarcastic terms for guiding humanity through his divine scripture. How would you tell when it's literal or when it's metaphorical and if it's the perfect book how can it be read wrong?
Circular Logic Argument: Whenever one asks Muslims to prove their religion and prophet to be true, all of them answer in a similar, absurd and illogical way. They explain: Muslim:Muhammad is a true prophet because the Quran says so. Inquirer:What is the evidence that the Quran is true and divine? Muslim:The Quran is true because Allah says so. Inquirer:How do you to be certain that Allah is the true God and the Quran is His divine words? Muslim:Allah is the true God because Muhammad said so. Inquirer:And how do you know what Muhammad was true? Muslim:Muhammad is true because the Quran says so.
This is called circular logic, proving something from its own source. It is like saying: I am the God, and the evidence for this is that I am saying so. Remember, no one trusts something that the claimer himself says. He has to prove himself either with evidences or with reason. The source of the Quran and Allah is only one and that source is Muhammad. Muhammad himself is claiming everything, and there is no evidence whatsoever that those claims are true and credible. Any thug and impostor can claim something in these ways, that doesn’t make the claim true. Not only that, whenever Muslims try to validate or justify any instruction or law of the Quran or of Islam—like the benefit of veil or growing beard or anything else-they give Quranic evidence in support of their claims, even to non-believers of the Quran. Doesn't that mean Harry Potter and Spiderman are also real if it says so in a book? It's the same logic and yet Muslims will get angry with this. They also seem to believe that just because it’s old and traditional that it should be treated with respect. Why should we do this when it has ruined countless lives and dissipated the freedom of those who chose to leave or threatened them with stoning/death penalty. We should aim to question everything that doesn’t make sense or takes away people’s rights in order for society to prosper. Allah knows best & It’s Allah wish Argument: In a debate or discussion with Muslims or mullahs, when one asks a critical question about Islam for which they have no answers, they will immediately end the discussion with words like: “It is Allah’s wish”, “Allah knows best”. This means that they come to engage in debate with certitude when they know little in their own admission. If one comes to engage in a discussion or a debate and says, he doesn’t know, it is Allah who knows, then what is the point of discussion with him? I have debated with hundreds of such Muslims. Their answers were all the same and ended with same sentence: “It is Allah wish”. For example, when I ask them: Why did Allah take six days to create the heaven and earth in spite of the power of ‘Kun Fayakun’ and being omnipotent, they answered, “It is Allah’s wish”. Whenever I ask Muslims, why Allah asked Muhammad to marry a six-year-old girl and what Allah proved thus, their only answer is: “It is Allah’s wish”. When I asked, how a child would be treated on Judgment Day, who was born in an infidel family and died within 2-3 years of his/her birth, they answered: “Allah knows best”. When I asked them, how the population after Adam and Eve grew when they only had two sons, Abel and Cain, no sister, they answered: “Allah’s know. We are not supposed to know everything and cannot question him and his wisdom.” If Islam don’t have the answer for ‘wherefrom and how we have come to existence’, isn’t it foolish to believe Islam’s saying about where we heading to. They win debates by saying only, ‘Allah knows”, and “Allah has every answer”. Thus, they are saved from answering crucial question leaving the critics unable to debate further, because Muslims can’t contact Allah for the answer and Allah will not answer before the so called Judgment Day which won't happen. This life is just a Test Argument: Whenever faced with questions like – why there is so much suffering and disease in the world, why there are earthquakes, floods, cyclones and other natural disasters, from which even the followers of the Quran and Hadiths are not spared. Muslims readily claim that ‘This life is only a test’. For them, earthly life is temporal, does not deserve any serious attention and the earth is only an examination hall. Yet, they pay so much importance to their unimportant life on earth that they carry out the most horrendous acts like the 9/11 massacre in USA, 26/11 massacre in Mumbia, Madrid bombings, Boston blasts, shooting the little girl Malala and such. Their prophet had more than a dozen of wives and married a six-year-old girl (Aisha) when he was aged 50. Muslims also go to school and work to get money and improve their earthly life even though this life is “just a test”, a tad bit hypocritical right? I've also known Muslims to say “money isn't everything” and yet they're so materialistic and wear nothing but designer clothes - especially arabs. Shaytaan is another one of my favourites. Muslims use shaytaan (satan) as an excuse e.g. if a girl wears sleeveless clothing or like me choose not to believe and thinks for himself using logic. If I say I don’t believe then my parents will say “shaytaan is responsible” and create an idiotic excuse for not allowing me to think with logic and reason as opposed to blind faith. Anything they cannot explain they will mostly refer to as “shaytaan’s doing” as an attempt to reconcile the fact that Islam is a perfect religion and if you think differently then it is you that’s wrong, not the Quran. This is Not Islam’ Argument Whenever pointed to evil acts committed by a Muslim, Islamic group or Islamic nation in the name of Islam, another excuse Muslims offer in Islam’s defence is: ‘This is not Islam’, ‘This has nothing to do with Islam’, ‘Nowhere does Islam command one to do so’. Be it 9/11 or 26/11 terror attacks or a condemnable act like the shooting of young girl Malala Yousufzai by Pakistani Taliban, their answer is always the same: “This is not Islam” to which is routinely added another excuse “This must a ploy of the Jews and the West to defame Islam”. Muslims always blame others rather than looking at themselves and this is now manifested into their culture as they are 2 faced to the white and people in their community and lie so much that lying becomes a normal custom to them. They blame the jews and zionists for any mistake that puts Islam in a bad light, even if it is a valid point. Muslims don't like criticism which is fair enough but that's why Islam doesn't work. It hasn't changed and only accommodates the olden days and doesn't suit today's modern society and their train of thought or actions. It is this lack of change that means that Islam doesn't progress and neither does its followers who cut people's hands off for stealing and blame others when a valid criticism is made against Islam, especially the Jews. Muslims always claim Islam is perfect but when challenged or critiqued they try and defend the claim even if they say nothing bad can be claimed about Islam, again hypocritical behaviour spans the entire Muslim world. In Hajj people die whilst circling the kabba as a result of being trampled on and yet they deem it fine because they died in God’s home and do not find it violent in any way and make excuses up. They even act like it’s fine for people to die because they think they’ll go to heaven because of where they died and what they were doing - all logic and sense is thrown out of the window when religion is concerned. Muslims are the biggest hypocrites I’ve met. They lie excessively and seldom tell the truth, they talk behind people’s backs without realising it rather than facing them and being honest. Ultimately, they say one thing and do the opposite, they never practice what they preach. The “Jizya” tax in Saudi and other countries means that non believers pay tax to stay in that country, how is this fair when you’re treating them in an inferior manner because of their religion/beliefs? In the UK Muslims don’t pay tax but in Saudi, Christians/Jews and other religious minorities have to pay tax! They exploit the UK whilst moaning and crying that western society is disgusting, while they choose to live there and reap the benefits. They blame their kids for becoming westernised when they moved there themselves. They also talk behind people’s backs about how they’re dressed when there is freedom to dress however one likes. Muslims also state that their culture should be respected so women from other countries dress fully clothed in their Islamic countries, which is fine because the home country’s culture is being adhered to. I don’t understand however the fact that in the UK and US, Muslims (mostly women) complain that wearing the burqa should be allowed because it is freedom of choice even thought the UK/US want them to respect their culture.
The Treatment of Women: The Quran also says that women are inferior to men many times in the Quran and yet lots of women refuse to accept this and even go as far as to defend Islam which has depleted their rights, this may however be due to Stockholm Syndrome. Because of many years of being mistreated and not knowing another religion or capacity of thought, women feel as if they deserve to be treated like this and that it is morally acceptable and therefore allow men to keep these views also (they’re probably scared of being beaten as well). This can be further reinforced by the idea of women in other Islamic countries being stoned or the so called honour killings that occur. Although this only happens in the middle eastern countries, it shows you that these Muslims are really following the Quran and these western so called Muslims are trying to adapt the religion and then claiming it fits today’s society when they have in fact changed the religion to fit modern days. It’s funny how most moderate Muslims aren’t even Muslims because they don’t follow the Quran to it’s full extent but try to adapt it to modern times and they don’t see that they aren’t actually following the Quran but have tried to change it to fit modern society without knowing they’ve ignored the Quran’s teachings. The extremists are the true Muslims who actually read and understand the Quran as they are in the 3rd world and Arabic is more commonly utilised and therefore it is under Sharia law which is under the Quranic laws and hadith.
Muhammad, a so called prophet who was supposedly peaceful and the perfect representation of a man abused his wives and advocated it: 4:34 - “Husbands should take full care of their wives, with [the bounties] God has given to some more than others and with what they spend out of their own money. Righteous wives are devout and guard what God would have them guard in the husbands’ absence. If you fear high-handedness from your wives, remind them [of the teaching of God], then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. If they obey you, you have no right to act against them. God is most high and great.”- You can argue this point but that's what it says, how can this be acceptable, why should a woman be obedient, why not the man? Some translations write “lightly strike” which is funny because it’s still hitting a woman and an act of violence that allows men to think they’re superior and the owner of women. Why is the woman not allowed to hit the man? Because Islam is a man made religion for male chauvinistic pigs to act in a manner of their own accord without any regards to anyone else, especially women. Islam relies on man’s instincts of violence and degradation of women as well as a lack of morals/respect for others. This is predominantly common in eastern countries and the men there are more suited for this due to their culture and because they see nothing wrong with it morally, they haven’t changed their ways. Muhammad used Allah so he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it and now we call him a prophet and overlook every one of his imperfections because he’s seen as perfect and those who criticise him are killed/beaten/threatened - me for example.
“I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion." - Sahih Bukhari 1:6:301. Now women are seen as inferior to men in terms of intelligence and are belittled then they are inferior in terms of offering prayer due to their periods-which Allah gave them and yet they are ridiculed for it. Also, why would Allah give women hair if they have to cover it? Why give men foreskins that later need to be cut off when apparently men are made perfect by Allah.
If you ask a Muslim why Muslim females wear the Hijab (veil) the reason given is usually one of two (or a mixture of both): They are showing obeying a command from Allah as given in the Quran; it is a matter of piety. Or they are protecting their modesty by dressing this way instead of showing their body off for everyone to see. Nothing could be further from the truth. The real reason that Muslim women wear the hijab today is not a spiritual one, nor a matter of piety. Covering the hair/face cannot be considered an act of modesty because Muslim men are not required to cover theirs. Even in 40+ degrees weather women wear the Hijab! Men don't have to cover their faces because apparently only men find women attractive and women don't have the ability to look at other men. Islam is so sexist and yet Muslims are blind to it and accept any reason as an excuse to cover it up, no pun intended. Rape happens due to men being sexually frustrated, women get raped regardless of what they're wearing or even what they look like. Fat, ugly clothed women have been raped before so this doesn't help solve the issue as well as men who get sexually assaulted by women but double standards prevents them from getting justice as apparently only men can do so. Men should be taught these values rather women having the need to cover up, although they can if they wish. Women are forced to wear it in Middle Eastern countries and if they choose to take it off they feel shame because they think they deserve to feel bad about their faces/bodies and that it should be covered.
Society and Islam has taught women to be afraid of their natural selves even though everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way. Women and men alike should be proud of their bodies and not ashamed because attraction is a natural thing and happens instinctively and cannot be controlled no matter how hard you try. Muslims and Islam is stupid in that they try to stop attraction by using burkas which doesn’t work because men still look at women regardless, it’s human nature and they are forcing and calling something that’s natural to be considered unnatural when it’s normal to find people attractive but gawking and staring only becomes worse when you put burqas in place because you make people sensitive when they see women with hair and you act as if it’s rare or a bad thing. This idea will only make it worse because people choose to rebel, look at the prohibition in America, everyone went crazy. You sensitise people from hair and it becomes weird to show hair and results in men looking at women weirdly when in fact they have been taught wrong or just not taught that women are equal. Middle Eastern and Islamic countries have women locked up and have to be covered when they go outside, even then women are pestered and stared at like nothing but sexual objects and they consider this normal. Yet they insist women have rights, considering women cannot leave the house without another man present and Saudi women can’t drive, I highly doubt it.
Muhammad had up to four wives at once and 12 altogether. Islam allows polygamy (up to 4 wives) the funny thing is we're meant to follow his sunnah and yet my mother or any moderate Muslim would be against the idea of me marrying a 6 year old or having 4 wives, this is clear hypocrisy. Also anyone saying polygamy is beneficial for men are wrong because there are more men than women on Earth and what if a rich woman can provide for her 4 husbands? See, Islam was made for and only caters for men who lived back in those days when women had even less rights and were almost something to be owned and even in Saudi/Egypt/Iraq/Iran are being sold off for camels or money, rather than being viewed as another human being with emotions. Islam and Muhammad perceives women as cheap meaningless devices for sex rather than a meaningful pursuit of love and happiness that is equal to man. Muhammad even had sex slaves and captured married women and had sex with them even if they said no.
Quran- 33:50 - “Prophet, We have made lawful to you the wives whom you have granted dowries and the slave girls whom God has given you as booty”. - Qur'an 4:3 “And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four;”
So having four wives is fine but what about four husbands? Oh yeah, the Quran doesn't allow that because once again, it is sexist. There is no logical reason for a man to have 4 wives and yet Muslims somehow try and justify it and if they do by saying the man can take care of all 4 if he's rich then why can't a wealthy woman do the same? This is because of traditional values that have been passed on and the Quran does not cater for the modern world hence it is not everlasting, as opposed to what Muslims claim. Muhammad was addicted to sex and utilised Allah’s name to cover himself for his barbaric actions.
Husbands are a degree above their wives in a legal context. The Quran in Sura 2:228 says: . . .Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with the generally known principles. Of course, men are a degree above them in status. . . (Sayyid Abul A’La Maududi,the Meaning of the Qur’an, vol. 1, p. 165)
Men are superior to women in a domestic context. The Quran in Sura 4:34 says: Men are managers of the affairs of women because Allah has made the one superior to the other. (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 329) In dividing the inheritance, a female gets half of a male’s share.
The Quran in Sura 4:11 says: The share of the male shall be twice that of a female. . . . (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 311) (See Sura 4:176.) A woman’s testimony often counts half of a man’s testimony. The Quran in Sura 2:282 says: And let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents [contracts of loans without interest]. But if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her. (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 205).
In Islam, the concept of 72 virgins (houri) refers to an aspect of Jannah (Paradise). This concept is grounded in Quranic text which describe a sensual Paradise where believing men are rewarded by being wed to virgins with "full grown", "swelling" or "pear-shaped" breasts. Conversely, women will be provided with only one man, and they "will be satisfied with him"- a tad bit unfair, 72 women to 1 man, men have it easier because it is designed for men for follow, hence it is full of violence and is oppressive to women as men tend to be stronger than women and think they are the masters of women.
To conclude I want to say that it is extremely evident that women are seen as inferior to men in almost every aspect and yet women somehow claim they have rights, this is probably because they're afraid of speaking out or lack logic to think of equality or basic human rights. They think they don't deserve it or will accept what the Quran says because they're idiots who don't think they're worthy of rights. Also, if Islam gives women rights, why not have a lady prophet? There are hundreds of thousands of male prophets but not even a single woman? Muhammad's treatment and objectification of women: According to multiple sources, Muhammad had many wives and concubines and was known as a "womaniser". Muhammad consummated his marriages with twelve women and divorced another six, he also used to visit all his wives in one night. Aisha, sometimes spelt as 'Ayesha', was the nine year old child-bride of Muhammad. She was engaged to him at the age of six. She was also the daughter of Abu Bakr, a close friend of Muhammad. Historically, she is known as Muhammad's "favorite wife."A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old. Sahih Muslim 8:3310. Not only did Abu Bakr hesitate, he refused Aisha to marry Muhammad but Muhammad convinced him otherwise due to their friendship. She was 6 at the time of marriage (Muhammad 50) and 9 at the time of consummation (losing her virginity, Muhammad was 53). Muhammad is therefore a paedophile, there I said it. If this was done today he would be arrested. She was not mature because: “Narrated 'Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.)” (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)- Sahih Bukhari 8:73:151
100 lashes is the punishment for adultery: "This is a chapter We have sent down and made obligatory. We have sent down clear revelations in it so that you may take heed: flog the male and the female adulterers and fornicators (الزانية والزاني) one hundred times. Do not let compassion for them keep you from carrying out Allah's law if you believe in Allah and the Last Day - and ensure a group of believers witnesses the punishment." (Qur'an 24:2). Not exactly peaceful or forgiving in any way, even if adultery is a horrendous thing to do, hitting someone is not the right approach. The man and the lady: if they commit adultery then stone them as a punishment from Allah and Allah is the Most Mighty, Most Wise”.
There is no justification for this now even if it were back in the olden days, the Quran and Muhammad's example are meant to be exemplary for all time, that includes now so even under different times his actions should echo in to the future regardless of conditions and he has no excuse to do this. No grown woman plays with dolls, unless she is mentally unwell, this would make the situation worse. Being a prophet doesn’t mean he can get away with everything, this is a poor excuse and only idiots would allow this to happen, nobody is perfect especially not Muhammad.
Science and Islam :
I love how Muslims claim the Quran is full of scientific miracles and yet when exposed they claim the Quran was talking in a metaphorical sense or you've read it wrong - God’s book is perfect so how can I read it wrong? Muslim apologetics ALWAYS try and find an excuse/reason even if nothing exists they’ll back up the religion using anything. If i've read it wrong then that makes God shit at writing his holy book which is supposedly perfect and contains no errors and yet people translate the Quran in so many ways, why can't they agree on one translation and it's a bit unfair if people have to learn a terrible language like Arabic to get the whole meaning. Arabic is not even a main language, so why did Allah not choose something more popular and easier to translate without confusion? Maybe because he's not real, yeah that's why.
This paragraph is about the use of camel urine as medicine in the Hadiths and how such usage is viewed in the Muslim world. Muhammad prescribed camel urine as medicine to the followers from Uraynah. Because Muhammad is a prophet, Muslims believe he received a divine revelation from God. As a result they continue to study and prescribe camel urine as medicine despite the lack of evidence proving there is any medicinal value in camel urine and that there is some evidence that drinking urine is actually harmful. Why don't people drink camel urine when poisoned? Muslims are such hypocritical people that they praise this and say mashallah, yet if this happened to them they would go to a doctor and even after they would thank God rather than the scientists after being giving the cure/treatment - funny right? Also, why did Allah never reveal anything way ahead of it’s time in terms of scientific discoveries. Muslims claim how it goes hand in hand with science but all the science in the Quran was already known and most of it was either wrong or vaguely described. Why did Allah not talk about something ahead of his time to prove he’s real? In May 2011, a BBC investigation found that genuine Zamzam water taken from the well contained arsenic levels three times the legal limit, something which could contribute to increasing people's risk of cancer. In addition to the dangerous arsenic levels, the holy water contained high levels of nitrate and potentially harmful bacteria. There is also a strong association between deficiency in Vitamin D and an increased risk of developing several deadly cancers, especially breast cancer. This is most prominent when women wear burqas and therefore do not get sufficient sunlight which is quite clearly the cause.
Adverse effects of fasting. Get ready this is a long list: Dehydration, Headaches (3x more likely in Ramadan), Tachycardia, Severe Headaches, Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting and Circulatory Collapse, weight fluctuation which can lead to diabetes or anaemia or any deficiency (vitamins and minerals), sleeping problems, daytime drowsiness due to lack of sleep, exhaustion and lack of productivity. That's quite a lot and yet Allah doesn't stop them? Not to mention having to work throughout the day (with a headache most of the time due to dehydration) then going to taraweeh for 1 hour 45 mins, is not only tiring and boring but also a waste of time that could be spent sleeping or doing something productive.
Evolution. A species only evolves to help it in its survival. The apes' ancestors could survive being an ape so they didn't continue to evolve, whereas our ancestors kept evolving to help them stay alive. Survival of the fittest is what drives evolution, and our ancestors just happened to "need" evolution more than the apes. Evolutionary process is performed by mutations, which are usually harmful or fatal. For evolution to occur, an incredible change happened so that the mutation would not harm or kill the new creature. Apes and humans evolved from an unknown common ancestor, however this happened over millions of years. Any Muslim arguing that it's just a “theory” doesn't know that theory means it is proven, hence the theory of gravity and you believe in gravity and not evolution, come on. The Quran says Allah made man not evolution but evolution has undeniable proof and yet you ignorant bigots still reject the idea in favour of an imaginary man who no one has ever seen. Cousin marriage is explicitly allowed in Islam as seen in the Qur'an. Muhammad himself married cousins, as he did with Zaynab bint Jahsh, who was not only the daughter of his father's sister, but was also divorced from a marriage with Muhammad's adopted son, Zayd ibn Haritha. This of course leads to much higher chance of birth defects and disabilities and cousin marriages are very common across the globe, even in the UK and US.
Islam and apostasy:
The punishment for apostasy in the Islamic faith is death. There are also numerous Sahih (authentic) hadiths confirming this punishment as attested by Prophet Muhammad. In Sahih Bukhari, “Allah’s Apostle said: 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him'” and it was also one of only three reasons given by him where killing a Muslim is permitted. Allah is so almighty that he has to get people killed because they left his religion? Why doesn't he just say “that's fine, it's their loss”? If he is so supreme and mighty, why does he care if he loses a worshipper when he can put them in eternal hell? It's because they've found the light and he doesn't want others to see it, this is why people get killed for leaving Islam, because they'll expose it for how shit it really is. Instead of being merciful, Allah tells you to kill apostates like myself, seriously, you call this the religion of peace? How blind are you? It then contradicts itself by saying “let there be no compulsion in religion”. So which is it and why is God so confused? Also, Islam is not the fastest growing religion. That is Christianity because Islam has more people leaving it but that number is hidden under the rug because of the consequences (death, beatings, disownment) therefore more people leave it than join it but the number is hidden because most are closeted ex Muslims (haven’t declared their apostasy). Plus quality of followers is more important than quantity as I’d rather disbelieve in God and have a free thinking mind than to be a mindless, blind sheep only following a religion because my family do so. Also, due to the inferiority complex, Muslims love bragging how many celebrities are Muslims. Why would this matter, considering Christianity has far more celeb followers and better followers yet they don’t brag about it.
Islam and violence: Contrary to what Muslims tell you, Islam and the Quran not only contain but encourage violence, especially to those who leave or insult it. Instead of acting like adults when someone insults their religion Muslims and the Quran tells you to retaliate and attack the non believers. This is the true religion of peace. There are 164 Jihad verses in the Qur'an and nearly 500 verses (roughly 1 out of every 12) that speak of Hell.
1. Practicing Muslims recite anti-Semitic and anti-Christian rhetoric at least 17 times a day, and over 5,000 times a year. 2. Compared to Mein Kampf, the non-abrogated Medinan verses of the Qur'an contain more than 2x the amount of anti-Jewish text. 3. 122 peaceful Qur'anic verses have been abrogated by the Sword verse (9:5) and Fighting verse (9:29).
Violence under Prophet Muhammad was a frequent occurrence, this is of little surprise. The use of assassination to achieve political/religious goals has been important throughout the history of Arabia and Islamic expansion, and the very word "assassin" has Arabic roots. He and his men murdered (and even tortured) hundreds of people, mostly Jews. He single-handedly killed 43 and ordered many others dead. His targets included men, women and children, both young and old. The reasons behind their executions varied from "causing offence" and writing or reciting poetry, to purely monetary gains for Muhammad, his men and the wider Muslim community. Genocide of the Jewish Banu Qurayza Tribe:
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah…slay them”- What kind of peaceful God or any kind of God has to force people to fight other people for him, surely if he's so powerful he can do it himself. Also it's funny to note that Muslims say that the Quran has no violence or when confronted say that there were wars going on etc which contradicts their first statement. Even in the presence of wars, it is wrong to kills others unless in self defence and this is clearly not self defence. Even then why not disarm them, capture them, then convert them to your religion instead of killing them? Other forms of violence:
The Quran says: "The male thief, and the female thief, you shall "eqta’u" their hands as a punishment for their deeds, and to serve as a deterrent from God. God is Almighty, Wise”- 5:38. Seriously, the Quran mentions cutting hands as punishment for stealing and yet you call it peaceful, really? Amputation is the removal of part or all of a body part enclosed by skin. It is a prescribed punishment in the Qur'an, and within the context of Islamic law, it refers to the removal of the hands or feet. Today, amputation is used as a punishment for theft in Saudi Arabia and Northern Nigeria which reintroduced Shari'ah law in 1999.
Stoning to death according to traditional interpretations is primarily a punishment for persons who engage in unlawful sexual relations (which include homosexual relationships). The criminals’ “hands are tied behind their backs and their bodies are put in a cloth sack." They are then "buried in a hole, with only the victims heads showing above the ground. If it’s a woman, she is buried up to her shoulders." The stones which are to be thrown at the criminal "should not be so large that the offender dies after a few strikes, nor so small as to fail to cause serious injury." Due to the Islamic laws on rape requiring four male eye witnesses before guilt can be ascertained, many rape victims end up being charged with 'adultery.' As was the case for a 13-year-old girl in Somalia who in October of 2008 was buried up to her neck and stoned to death in front of more than 1,000 people in a football stadium, she was the victim of gang-rape unfortunately. Funnily enough if 4 witnesses report rape then that girl has had sex and it counts as losing virginity before marriage or adultery and 3rd world countries stone women for this. The Qur'an itself does not explicitly mention the act, but there are several sahih (authentic) hadith which speak of Muhammad ordering people to be stoned to death. According to hadith, the Quranic verses of stoning were written on a piece of paper and were lost when a goat ate the paper. A goat ate the pages and yet it is untampered according to Muslims, how stupid are you, a fucking goat and yet you still say it's perfect and praise it.
Homosexuality is not only a sin but a crime too under Islamic law, especially in 3rd world countries and Saudi/iran/iraq etc. Gay people here are stoned to death, beaten and imprisoned. Why would someone admit they’re gay if they know they’ll get punished? Because they haven’t done anything and attraction is instinctive so they cannot help it and this vulnerability and truth is used as a tool for their beating or killing by ignorant idiots who choose to listen to a book that is 1400 years old. Being gay is not something people choose to do (some may but most don’t have a choice) but something they’re born with. I for example have always been attracted to girls and always will be and I can’t change that, neither can homosexuals/lesbians. Muhammad himself had stated, “If you find anyone doing as Lot’s (gays) did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done”. So, even if you’re raped, you get killed, how violent and stupid up it that? Why not leave it to Allah, I mean they’ll go to hell anyway, plus isn’t it Allah who made them that way? Ironically, Pakistan is a country that kills and stones gay people so they’re really intolerant of gays and yet…Pakistan is the country that searched for gay porn the most! Nice hypocrisy there. I believe the reason for this is because the sexes are kept apart and they can’t have sex with women so they are left sexually frustrated and have no other choice except gay sex or marriage. In a study by Harvard, “Gay men and straight women have, on average, equally proportioned brain hemispheres. Lesbian women and straight men have, on average, slightly larger right brain hemispheres” so their brain structure is what’s responsible and because the brain is something that cannot be controlled (the hypothalamus anyway), they cannot control their sexual preferences.
Violence in Islam is not only limited to this life, but is also an integral part of the afterlife. The belief that disbelievers will be punished may be true for other faiths, but the amount of text that Islamic devotes to detailing this punishment and the explicit and triumphant nature of their descriptions is certainly not. There are nearly 500 verses (roughly one out of every twelve) in the Qur'an which speak of Jahannam (Hell). We are told it was specifically created and prepared with eternal fire by Allah, so that he could torture disbelievers - how sadistic is this? He’s meant to be the most merciful and yet threatens to torture and kill people for not believing in him. Shirk (disbelief in God) is seen as a worse offence than rape and murder in the Quran as they can be forgiven. In fact, disbelievers are the fuel of Allah's fire, and he even says that he had the option of 'giving every soul its guidance' but would prefer to 'fill Hell with jinns and men'. Some of the tortures include; wearing garments of liquid pitch, being bound in yokes and chains, spending eternity in a blazing fire with exchangeable skins so that they can be roasted over and over again, faces being covered in fire and lips being burned off, boiling water being poured over heads and used to scald skin and internal organs, being dragged by the face through boiling water and fire, beaten with maces of iron, and being fed painful, noxious, choking foods which will leave people hungry and boil their insides. Do you still think it's the religion of peace? If so, consider getting a mental health check up please. I am no longer afraid to say I don’t believe in God because of a lack of evidence, however if God does exist he is meant to be nice and merciful so this idea would be an insult to God, if there is one.
The idea of God/Allah itself:
A good person never expects anything in return when he does a good deed to another. He would never expect the other person to thank him for the rest of his life or bow five times a day before him, nor would he curse him or hate him for not thanking him. Now examine the concept of Allah in Islam. Muhammad said that Allah did us a favour by creating us (though we never asked him to). Then he DEMANDS that we bow before him five times a day to thank him, and please his vanity by chanting he is great (Allah-oh-Akhbar) and that there is no one else besides him. He doesn't just demand, but threatens to throw us into hell if we do not do this. Also, for those who do not follow him (the non-believers), he secures a burning hell. Allah is more insecure than a 14 year old girl in that he has to be prayed to 5 times a day!!!!! (5 exclamations used to show this excess). Many people have jobs and busy schedules and so they cannot or have to pray later but this is almost unavoidable due to circumstances and yet Allah still wants us to pray to him, in a language you don't even know or understand.
Also, Allah lacks self-esteem, as no person with self respect would force others to respect him and force them not to worship anyone else. A truly great person doesn't need others to tell him he is great and doesn't bully others in praising him alone. Also, a good person doesn't praise himself. He in fact remains humble even when his accomplishments are praised by others. Only a parasite and a very empty vessel brags about himself and praises himself with his own mouth, this shows heavy insecurity and lack of self esteem. Now, let us suppose that the Quran has indeed come from Allah. Witness that the Quran is heavily laced with verses praising Allah. If Allah is the source of the Quran, then he has spared no effort in praising himself. He has called himself “the Exalted, the Supreme, the Most Compassionate and Merciful, the Sovereign, the One, The Source of Peace” to name a few. Not only has he praised himself, but he demands his followers to regularly chant the Quran and praise him with the most fanciful salutations. Based on this, can anyone say that he is good? He is more a petulant, narcissist worthless creature.
He created the biggest racketeering system ever. For those who don't know, racketeering is basically where you offer protection from a problem in return for money, when in fact no problem really exists and will actually only be caused by you if they don't pay. Isn't that what hell is? God demands payment from us, in the form of prayer and worship,to protect us from hell, a problem he himself created. Fucking genius! He is truly the greatest troll. That’s like giving a poor person food and then asking them to pay for it when they’re finished even though they’re poor and won’t be able to pay for it and you knew this beforehand.
Richard Dawkins’ “The God Delusion” has already proved that God is man made and that when we’re born, we’re born as atheists which therefore shows that culture/environment/family influence our decision that there is a God. Everyone is born atheist but get taught God exists and that’s where Islam comes in handy. It brainwashes and feeds everyone the idea that Allah exists and most Muslims live in 3rd world countries without proper education or freedom. This means if they disbelieve they can be killed or tortured so are forced to believe it. Islam also preys on the dumb and ignorant as Muslims tend not to research things about Islam even if it’s serious and creates a huge doubt because they’re too stubborn in their thought. This close mindedness is everywhere in the Muslim community as their kids tend to be rude and ignorant towards others and lack respect of others who are different or have different beliefs or ideologies just because they cannot fathom someone thinks differently to them. I know this because I was like this but not too far gone, luckily I always had my doubts and logic accompanying me.
Contradictions:
Is Allah kind and merciful? Yes - “Most Gracious, Most Merciful” -Quran 1.3. No - “Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise”. Could he choose one, he seems confused. How long did heaven and Earth take to create? 6 days -“Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not receive admonition”? - Quran 10.3. 8 Days - “say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds. He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days, alike for (all) who ask; Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days and inspired in each heaven its mandate; and We decked the nether heaven with lamps, and rendered it inviolable. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Knower”.
What was man made of: Dust-“The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then don't said to him: "Be. And he was” Clay-“We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape” - Drop of blood “Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood”
Does Allah cause evil? Yes-If some good befalls them, they say "This is from Allah". But if evil, they say "This is from thee" (O prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah”. No - “Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah. But whatever evil happens to thee, is from thyself. But what has come to these people. That they fail to understand a single fact”.
Sperm is apparently made “proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs” which is ridiculously wrong, it's made from the testes. Evolution is also disregarded even though it's a theory and stupid Muslims don't understand that theory means it has been proved and therefore cannot be wrong. The same goes for the theory of gravity, which Muslims believe in and yet they don't believe in evolution somehow. Those that do believe in evolution are not Muslims and are not true to the Quran and are trying to be modern but it doesn't work because the Quran says Allah created everything, not the big bang. Muslims always try to be modern but the funny thing is, Islam is 1400 years old and only works back in that time and doesn't make sense now e.g we don't have slaves anymore. By trying to be modern Muslims are stupid as they try to forgo the Quran which says you either follow it 100% or not at all. The extremist Muslims are actually the real Muslims as they follow the real Quran even though it's violent and the modern, London or American Muslims don't follow the Quran properly because it advocates them to attack unbelievers or kill them and they don't do it. Hence the extremists are called so because they’re actually following the Quran but more so than the moderate modern Muslims.
Last one but very important. “And the earth We have spread out, like a carpet”. “And the earth We have stretched it out, spread it flat”. This is why you pray to East, because the Quran assumes the earth is flat so you pray to East. That makes sense, however science has already proved that the Earth is round and therefore no matter which way you pray, you'll face East because the Kabba can be accessed by even facing west. Islam has been debunked, by an 18 year old, maybe in the future I’ll considered a humanitarian prophet and people will say “peace be upon him” after my name.
My favourite quote by Marcus Aurelius - “Live a good life. If there are Gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are Gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no Gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”. I believe that if a God does exist, then he will care more about how we treat other human beings as opposed to how much we have worshipped him and this is our real test as opposed to how much we worship him even though we should do both. Most Muslims today don’t mind being bad people just as long as they’re good Muslims and that’s where religion is wrong. Religion stops us focusing on each other and everyone does good things to get into heaven as opposed to doing good things because it makes them feel good and happy and it helps society progress as everyone is helping each other.
For all of the reasons above and more I am leaving Islam for good and I will gladly never look back, I will now be the person I should be without these hindrances in my life. I can now live my life as I should have done, without any fear and the idea that my family only love me because I’m Muslim and their love is conditional.To my family and friends if you love me unconditionally you'll accept me regardless of my faith or lack thereof and I can continue my life without any more problems. I love you guys regardless of religion/colour/race but because you’re all in my life for a reason and I want that reason to be good. Love is about appreciating something/someone merely for existing and having a role in your life’s journey, no matter how big or small. As well as that everything has value, even if you don’t think so. Love is knowing that everyone and everything has value. Nowadays people are loving things and people are being used rather then people being loved and things being used.
