Islamic Prophecies: Extra-Terrestrial life
Having discourse with aliens is still an unrealized dream, but science is progressing in that direction. The presence of extra-terrestrial life has been proved by scientists. The next step is to see them and making a link with them. No religious scripture, except Quran, even hints about this great scientific discovery.
This claim of 'fulfilled' prophecy states “...still an unrealized dream..” so why include it? Again the verse in context:
And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and what He has spread forth in both of them of living beings; and when He pleases He is all-powerful to gather them together.
This verse indicates it is talking about what is included in the Earth and the Seven Heavens. The majority of the tafsir's agree. Here they are:
(And among His Ayat) the signs which point to His great might and power,
[خَلْقُ السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضِ وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا]
(is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving creatures He has dispersed in them both.) means, whatever He has created in them, i.e., in the heavens and the earth.
(and whatever moving creatures) this includes the angels, men, Jinn and all the animals with their different shapes, colors, languages, natures, kinds and types. He has distributed them throughout the various regions of the heavens and earth.
(And He) means, yet despite all that,
[عَلَى جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَآءُ قَدِيرٌ](is Able to assemble them whenever He wills.) means, on the Day of Resurrection, He will gather the first and the last of them, and bring all His creatures together in one place where they will all hear the voice of the caller and all of them will be seen clearly; then He will judge between them with justice and truth.
42:29) And of His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the living creatures that He has spread out in them. He has the power to bring them together when He so wills. "In both": In both the earth and the heavens. This is a clear pointer to the fact that life does not only exist on the earth but on other planets as well. That is, "Just as He has the power to scatter them, so He has also the power to gather them all together. Therefore, it is wrong to think that Resurrection cannot take place, and aII the former and the latter generations cannot be raised up and gathered all together. "
None of the scholars except Maududi claim this verse shows that alien life exists, but the claim of the verse is irrelevant when claiming fulfilled prophecy regarding aliens as it has not been shown that extra terrestrial life exists.
This is not prophesying ET's, since aliens have not been demonstrated to exist.
