Embedding media files

Is there any way this can be fixed? It's a real shame not being able to embed most media files. :(

Featured Testimonies

Hi Whale! I know our major revamp of the main page is a while off and ideas have not yet been finalized, but I thought I'd make a start on it with a temp page for testimonies we think are good enough to be "featured testimonies".

I've added a few there, but obviously we will need more. Most of the ones I added today were testimonies which I remembered to be interesting. I will read through them again over time, but if there's any that you particularly like please add them. --Gabe 07:37, 11 May 2012 (PDT)

Yeah, that's a great idea! We could also neaten up and rename the temp page so we can link it from there (that way readers can, if they like, simply go through the list of "featured testimonies" rather than hundreds of the other). --Gabe 09:28, 12 May 2012 (PDT)

Yea we can make it so they see the featured testimonies links first. We can also put a table of 10 or so featured testimonies at the very top (before the new testimonies? or after, not sure). First I made a template that made a little box at the top and I couldnt fix the white space issue: User:Whale/Sandbox3. Then I did where we can change the variable name and it will show up at the bottom of that info table: User:Whale/Sandbox2. We can also have the link to the featured page in Template:Apostate-bottom. I wanted to give more prominence to a featured testimony so people can tell right away if its a featured or not so I made the star bigger. I think featured testimonies should come after new testimonies (it would seem odd the other way). Whatever number of featured articles we choose to link on the present page, it should be consistent with the number of "Latest Testimonies" (ATM there's 8 of them). The star looks cool the size it is, but I was wondering if you could remove the "Other apostates" and "Add your testimony" links from beneath the info box on featured testimonies? It looks really cluttered once the featured article stuff is added, plus it won't really be missed on the featured testimonies because the "Other apostates" and "Add your testimony" links are also on Template:Apostate-bottom. --Gabe 03:48, 13 May 2012 (PDT)
